Co-op Safety and Rules

The safety of co-op members is our top concern. Please read the safety and behavior expectations below WITH YOUR CHILDREN and make sure they understand what is expected. Once you have accepted the agreement, fill in your name and your children’s names on each line and hit submit. Thanks!

Classroom Behavior Expectations:

  1. Follow directions and stay with your class.

  2. Do not disrupt the learning environment.

  3. Listen to all Co-op parents requests. If you feel the request is not reasonable then please ask your parent for help.

  4. Do unto others: Have respect for others and you will have respect in return.

  5. Keep your hands to yourself. No hitting, pushing, kicking, etc.

Class Consequences:

Each Teacher/Assistant is encouraged to handle minor student behavior issues just as you would handle the same behavior from your own child. Kindness and compassion is a good start.

If the child is just not responding to kindness and compassion please speak with the child’s parent. If this is unsuccessful please check in with a council member.

Safety Expectations:

  1. Stay in Co-op rented space at all times.

  2. Let your parent or teacher know if you are leaving a play area or class to go to the restroom. We don’t want to lose you.

  3. Do not wander around at any time during Co-op. Every child is to be in an assigned spot from 11:00 am-2:00 pm and with their parent(s) before and after class times.

  4. Please do not go to class by yourself. Meet your teacher at Announcements.

  5. Keep your hands to yourself. No hitting, pushing, kicking, etc.

  6. The church has asked us not to play or climb on the following:

Outside:

Fire Escape

Window Wells

Hill behind the playset

Railings on the Steps

Inside:

Stairwell leading from  Fellowship Hall

The furnace/ boiler room

The Chapel Room (The Sanctuary)

Please remember that we only have this great place to meet as long as the church welcomes us. We all have different beliefs, which should be respected. Regardless of those beliefs, please remember that we are meeting in a church and be respectful of that fact in your language, actions and etc.

Safety:

You are responsible for your child(ren) before and after Co-op AND during Lunch. If you need to separate from your child(ren) for any reason (i.e. to set up for a class or run to the bathroom) you are responsible for asking another parent to watch your child(ren).

Children should NOT be in the parking lot without a parent.

   * 1st Warning : Parents are notified of child’s unsafe behavior.

   * 2nd Warning : Parents are asked to keep child with them at all times.

   * 3rd Warning : The child will be asked to not return to Co-op the following week.

   * 4th Warning : The child will be asked to not return to Co-op for the remainder of the session.

Please contact your council representative if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.

Sick Policy:

  • We ask that all participates (children and adults) be fever, vomit and diarrhea free for at least 24 hours. If you are sick, please stay home. We will get your classes covered, your health and the health of others is more important.

  • Check for lice, if you have lice and are not treated please don’t come. Also it is better to tell the group if you do get lice so we can all be checking.
